Senior Minister

Dear friends, like many of you I was born and raised in the OKC Metropolis. I remain proud of my south OKC roots and the down to earth attitude I was taught to live. We are all precious in the sight of God!

I’ve been blessed to have had the opportunity to graduate from U.S. Gant H.S., the University of Oklahoma and Oral Roberts University School of Divinity & Missions. I’ve also completed the coursework for a Doctor of Divinity Degree at Asbury theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. During Seminary I was able to study for a full semester at the Holy Land Institute in Jerusalem. I’m also a graduate of the Motorcycle Safety Course at OSU/OKC!

I worked at Target as a youth and sold Real Estate as a young adult before being filled with the Holy Spirit and answering the Spirit’s call to full time pastoral ministry. This call was affirmed by the church of my boyhood, the United Methodist Church, and I am in my 25th year of service as a pastor. I’ve also had the honor of serving church’s in Delaware, Ada, Wynnewood, Lawton, Tulsa, and Mustang.

My life has had many successes, but also many tragedies and failures. I have a very thankful and joyous heart because of the way my Heavenly Father has poured out His grace and forgiveness over my life!

I am married to the most wonderful woman I have ever known, Sheryl, and together we have four children, Anna 21, Alexandra 20, Jason 35 and Jenna 27. Jason is married to our daughter-in-law Jodi and we have two grandchildren, Jacob 4 and Addison 2.

Sheryl and I are thankful for the wonderful people of Sunny Lane UMC and encourage you to come and enjoy sharing life with them as much as we do!
